Finding the Right Car for You
Now that you know how to get a new car loan with great rates and terms, you need to find the right car for you. Before you decide on a car, ask yourself these questions.
- Who will be driving it? Consider who will be driving the vehicle when you get a new car loan. For example, if you are buying for a teenager, you might make safety your #1 priority. Young working adults on a budget, on the other hand, might value price more.
- How many passengers will you have and of what age? If you have many passengers or young children, you might consider a vehicle like a minivan. A minivan's sliding door makes getting kids in and out of cars easier.
- How will you use it? If you will use your new car primarily for commuting purposes, choose a vehicle based on its comfort level and fuel economy. Remember that you can qualify to get a new car loan before you decide for sure on a car.
- How important is gas mileage? Gas-guzzlers can make a serious dent in your finances, so consider the monthly fuel costs of prospective vehicles.
- Do you need a lot of power? Maybe you need to use your car for towing purposes or you just like to accelerate quickly. If so, consider horsepower when car shopping.
- How big of a car do you need? Don't just consider how many passengers you'll have when determining the size of your new vehicle. Also consider things like cargo space, especially if your children have hobbies or sports that require significant storage space.
